The other night the Fortuna Chamber of Commerce held a Christmas party for the Fortuna group. The Corps provide a very important, and very much appreciated service to the City of Fortuna and its surrounding areas. They help with all of the events, fires, brush clearing, reclamation projects and so much more.
I donate my time to take pictures of everyone with Santa. I must say that it is one of the most rewarding events I do in the year. These young adults have so much fun at this party, and show so much appreciation for it that you cannot help but me moved. The importance of this event is really driven home when these young people come up to you, shake your hand and personally thank you for what you are doing. I always want to tell them they do not need to thank us, but I realize it is a two way street. We each get something out of it.
As I write this, everyone has left for the holidays, pictures in hand. We wish all of the a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Here is one picture from the night, the rest can be seen Here
